How to conserve electricity with your Clothes Dryer? We will show you.
· Save energy and always remember a clothes dryer is only a heating element, so use only where air drying is not possible.
· One full load will conserve energy and is better than several small loads.
· If you have more than one load to dry, do each laundry load immediately after the previous one. This will use the heat of the previous load cycle and will improve the efficiency of the dryer and saves energy.
· If you are in the market to buy a new clothes dryer, purchase one with a "moisture sensing" device that will shut off automatically when your clothes are dry, so that the dryer does not run any longer than necessary.
· If you do not have the above moisture sensing device, how you can save is by lessen your drying time and energy use by setting your timer. Over drying your apparel will also shorten the life of the clothes and will cause shrinkage and static cling.
· Separating heavy and light fabrics will to help keep drying time at a minimum. Mixing different weights and fabrics will cause the dryer to run longer than necessary.
· Always remember to check the lint filter before each load to conserve electricity. Lint building up blocks air flow, will lengthen the drying time, and costs you energy dollars.
· Remove the items when the dryer stops to stop unnecessary wrinkling which may require pressing to remove.
