Conserve Electricity

While the national average retail price of electricity rose only 2.3 percent during 2007, those low increases will not persist. Many experts, including Energy research firm Global Insight, project rates to rise anywhere from 5 to 6 percent percent nationally this year. This is largely due to escalating coal costs, and now natural gas prices are also increasing.  Stifel Nicolaus, a Wall Street investment bank, has even gone so far as to project that higher fuel costs will boost retail electric rates by 69 percent before 2015. That rate of increase is more than double the increase of the last 10 years. You need to implement all the programs and tips you can to conserve to try to keep your utility bill from being even more outrageously high.

While it may be hard to believe, it is also hard to believe that gas is now at $4 dollars a gallon...
